Greetings! It is that time of the year again where great games are featured on local shores. Yes, ESGS is fast approaching, and once again the PinoyPS community has been tapped to work on this year’s Brawlfest event along with our friends from Playbook Video Game Lounge and Book Store, Cosmic Gorgons, and Imperium.

For the next few series of posts, we will be detailing the rules and regulations for the tournaments PinoyPS will be handling. First on the list: The King of Fighters XIV!


General Rules

  • All games will be played on PlayStation 4 units
  • All games will be played on default settings.
  • All tournament matches will be best 2 out of 3 games. Winners Finals, Losers Finals and Grand Finals are all best 3 out of 5 games.
  • All tournaments will be run in Double Elimination format.
  • Winners will be player locked, but will be allowed to rearrange member order.
  • It is recommended to bring your own controller/arcade stick.
  • No coaching from Top 8 onwards.
  • Any tournament players that are not present when their match is called for pool/semifinal/final matches, without giving staff a valid reason for not being present, will have a period of three minutes to report to their station with the required equipment. After the three minute grace period has expired, you will be forced to forfeit your Match. This is for strict compliance.
  • Legacy controller users must inform assigned Tournament Organizer of use of said controller. Tournament Organizer will then be the one to enable the Legacy Controller.
  • Nakoruru, Mian, and Mature are not banned.

Accidental Pause Rules

  • Offended player will have the following options:
    • Take or win the round
    • Continue the match like normal
  • If the offended player chooses to take/win the round. The following rules will be upheld:
    • Offended player has the life lead
      • Both players will have to wait it out until the time ends. No meter building for both players.
    • Offended player does not have the life lead
      • Offended player will hit his opponent until he gets the life lead then both players will have to wait it out until the time ends. Player who paused the game cannot build any meter at this time.
  • Accidental Pause covers the following scenarios:
    • A player accidentally hits the pause or home button on his/her controller pad or fightstick.
    • A player’s controller pad or fightstick malfunctions, causing the game to be paused.


How to Join:

  • Interested players can pre-register via the form below>
  • Interested players can also register via walk-in during ESGS, however priority would be given to the pre-registered players.
  • A registration fee of Php 50 is required to secure a slot in the tournament you wish to join.
  • Registration period for the tournament is from 10am to 1:30pm of October 30. Tournament starts at 2pm of October 30.


  • 1st place: 70% of prize pool plus trophy
  • 2nd place: 30% of prize pool
